Matthew E. Exton is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Health and Human Services and the University of Toledo College of Law. He is licensed to Practice law in Ohio and in the Northern District of Ohio Federal Courts. While attending law school, he was the Dean of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity International, a member of the American Constitution Society, a member of the Environmental Law Association, and a member of the Student Bar Association. Mr. Exton was selected to represent the University of Toledo at the annual Environmental Law Moot Court Competition at Pace Law School in New York in his third year of law school. He served two internships while at law school. The first was at the Toledo Municipal Public Defender’s office. The second was with the Maumee Municipal Prosecutor’s office.

Upon graduation and passing the Ohio State Bar Exam, Mr. Exton was hired as an associate attorney at a Toledo law firm. There he independently represented clients in the following areas: uncontested divorce and dissolution cases, misdemeanor and felony criminal defense cases, juvenile delinquency cases, estate planning, and child custody cases. He has tried cases in the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, Sandusky County Court of Common Pleas, Ottawa County Court of Common Pleas, Wood County Court of Common Pleas, Fulton County Court of Common Pleas, Sylvania Municipal Court, Puranam County Common Pleas Court, United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and surrounding municipal courts.

In December of 2009, Matthew Exton left the law firm and began a solo law practice. Presently, he practices in Northwest Ohio from with Lydy & Moan, Ltd and in a separate office in Fremont, Ohio. His focus is in litigation. Specifically, he practices in the areas of uncontested divorce and dissolution cases misdemeanor and felony criminal defense cases, juvenile delinquency cases, estate planning, child custody cases, and personal injury cases. His clients have praised him for, extraordinary results in trials, excellent service, for professionally returning telephone calls, and quickly responding to email inquiries.
